I'll start things off by naming some that I have enjoyed:

1. City of god
2. Suicide circle

I'd have a bigger list, except for the fact that I've only just started to get serious about broadening my horizons, and watching more films that are not either from Hollywood or a well known British/UK film.

ps. be gentle, this is the 1st time I've started a thread here, so I hope gets at least a few responses.

The war bride http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0244297/

My first mister http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206963/

A tale of two sisters http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365376/

The Chambermaid on the Titanic http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129923/

The Five People You Meet in Heaven http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400435/

I am david http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327919/

I am dina http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281924/

A Very Long Engagement http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0344510/

My Flesh and Blood (brilliant film) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342804/

ive got loads of others, some foreign with subtitles, some not, i think non mainstream films have a tendency to focus more on cinematography, story and characters. mainstream films, in general, seem to be abit more instant gratification of sex, violence and special effects. thats ok, in small doses, but to me it becomes boring and i dont connect to it very well if it feels like its the same as the last.
i know an exellent little bittorrent community that deals only in cult films, shows and music and thats where i get alot of mine from Wink

Watched Pans Labrinth last nite and it was one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Another good foreign one is the Pusher trilogy - 3 danish films chronicling the lives of people involved in drugs and how it's a hopeless life. Very, very grim. dark and disturbing but superb films.

I never got around to seeing that. The impression I got at the time was that it was a poor trainspotting type clone, and not very good. I was interested in seeing it, anyway, but never did.

I might just acquire that, after all these years, and see what it is like.

It's not really like trainspotting. Definetly worth a watch tho as it's quite funny. Involes lots of bonging in the bath and majic mushroom hotdogs (mmmm..tasty)!
