its a movie based on a comic book, about blowing up houses opf parliment but has typical romance and suspense element as well, its fantastic! def worth watching, was told it was similar to sin city, with the whole comic book thing, but its so much better.

I'm not slating the film, which i'm sure was really good (yes I saw it) but i'm biased. I don't think the Wachowski brothers can actually write dialogue that doesn't sound preachy or pretentious - and the fact they got Agent Smith (no, not Hugo Weaving) back to play V just made it all the worse.

It was better than I was expecting, but bloody hell was there a lot of talking for an action flick. Some nice cameos, including Steven Fry though!

The final "showdown" was a little bit brief. Kinda the ultimate anti-climax.

Agh. I really wanted to like it, honest I did!

ah alan moore what a genius.

if you dont own the graphic novel you MUST get it and check out
THE WATCHMEN which various movie houses have been thinking about producing for some time now.

V for vendetta as a movie I too was a bit skeptical as most comic translations dont work. they did a good job but to condense ALL the graphic novel into the short time of a movie is impossible, what they did put in was very well done though.

get the novel here at amazon

Well they trashed 'from hell' as an adaptation

Alan Moore walked away from V a long time ago... the tale was interesting but more aimed at the USA than anything else I thought.
The opening was spoilt as was Evey as a character

As for the logistics of the masks... *sigh*

The worst bit is that it was much better thanthe other pap on at the same time...

I kinda liked "From hell". Wasn't that the one with Depp doing his hilarious accent?

To be fair, I thought that was the only flaw of the film. I didn't know it was based on anything though, so i'm praising it as a film, not an adaptation.

V for Vendetta is one of my all time fav films, totally engrossed all the way through, amazing performance by Hugo Weaving, Portman wasn't too shabby either, and about the end, WTF, anti climax??? you mad?? He stands and takes like 10 full clips to the chest then just stands there, smoke coming off him and says "my turn" then slices and dices them before they can reload!!! ZOMG AWESOME

*cough*

Yeah good filum Embarassed

EDIT: forgot to mention, I made this sig because of the film
