Here are a couple of clips from the 1979 New York gang film The Warriors:

Film Trailer
Film extract 4 minutes long.

This is a real classic seventies film. Plenty of action too.

Yes I remember the Wanderers too. It was a comedy set in New Yorks gangland in 1963. I remember the catchphrase from that film well: "Don't marry with the baldies". LOL

Strange you brought this up Stonecastle, I only just bought the Warriors playstation game recently. I had no idea it was a movie till i saw paramount attached to the Game credits. For the sake of curiousity i asked around about it.

Unique is one word thats been described to me, wierd and camp are others. Is the film worth getting?

The premise has piqued my curiousity at the very least.

The Warriors game is one of the best ever, imo, and it captures the movie perfectly. It really is a good movie, and well worth watching.

The Warriors is just f**king excellent. One of my favourite movies. Even got a Baseball Furies baseball shirt with the logo embroidered on the back.

A good gritty film with an ace soundtrack to boot. Pretty cool how its based on an old Greek tale too. I never realised that until I picked up the anniversary edition.

'warriors....come out to play....'

Class film, not seen it for a few years mind. Same goes for the Wanderers.

Another great New York gang film was West Side Story from 1961. It stood the test of time well being both a successful film and a Broadway musical.

I saw a special edition of the Warriors movie going cheap and picked it up.

It was enjoyable i have to say but sadly the film has dated slightly because the violence in it isn't as horrific today as it was when it was released. People are desensitised more these days i guess.

Mind you i might be biased because two of my favorite characters from the game were Cleon and Ajax, and i was disgusted that they were the first two knocked out in the movie Very Happy

That said though, if there was a sequel or a remake made, id definatly go so it, Its a premise worthy of John carpenter and the director made some great choices and statements in the movie.

I had a mosey around and MTV films are doing a warriors remake.

unfortunatly there will be no swan or ajax or furies or hi hats or even NYC.

Its set in LA with a whole different set of gangs. The only thing it will have in common with the original will be the name and the basic plot of one gang battling from one point to the other.

Also here's the official website for anyone who wants it.

Also some cool extra scene's
