Personally, I'm finding myself somewhat nostalgic of the past. To which end, I have recently bought the original Power Rangers on DVD. The box is all in German, obviously, but it's really hard to find the older TV shows on DVD now.
So the point of my topic? Does anyone else prefer the older shows to the newer? Anyone on a trip down Memory Lane of their own? If so, do you have directions to the local supermarket? I'm starving.

I found an old can of baked beans in my kitchen cupboard, bought over 14 years ago - unused, and partially rusted. I gave it to a long-sighted elderly neighbour who later told me - after he got out of hospital 2 months later - that on the hospital staff breaking into his home to find the food-poisoning source, on examining the empty can they told him that: old stuff certainly isn't the best.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
I watched this a few years ago. It's perfect for Mighty Boosh and IT Crowd fans. Plus it's very 80s, it has the music, hairstyles and you can see the pieces of string attached to the flying objects.
It's available to watch on 4OD now

Nope, but I did hear of a parachuting club who made it compulsory for ladies to use a tampon before jumping from a plane. Something to do with helping to stop a whistling sound as they free-fall.......!?

The Transformers movie from a couple of years ago (not Revenge of the Fallen, the first, actually watchable one) made me nostalgic for the TV show.
Luckily they were made available again not long ago by whoever owns the rights (as they were looking to cash in) and I now have every episode of the original series. ![]()

I enjoy a lot of older shows more than i do the new ones. But there are still some good ones being made. The original transformers series, as mentioned earlier, is one great example. As are most 80s cartoons over the modern stuff, in particular the brit ones. We have completely lost the art here.

I agree with you, old things are best, I have to mention the movie that left big impression to me that is "A Walk to remember" and of old shows "Friends" they always make me laugh.

I really like The Professionals. I also like Morecambe and Wise and The Two Ronnies. For kids stuff most things from the 80's was awesome. Most of the stuff on TV these days is just rubbish.
