I thought this movie was well down and quite entertaning. How true was this reprsentation of skinheads and racisim back in the 80's??

Still dying to see it! Check out the directors last film Dead Mans Shoes as it's a masterpiece!

I thought it was pretty good. what you got to remember is its one mans story of his personal experience, so not everybody will have experienced it in the same way. I thought it was well acted and fairly representational of what it was like back then. I just didnt understand the bit at the end and what he does with the flag Confused

I remember that era very well as I was 16 going on 17 in 1983 and it was the year that I left school. Where I lived there were lots of punks, skinheads, heavy rockers and mods at the time. In a couple of years by 1985 goths and psychobillys will come along in huge numbers. By the way by 1983 new romantics had been and gone too.

I remember from starting secondary school in September 1978 loads of my mates got into the punk scene then the re-emerging skinhead and mod scene. It was a very interesting era. I remember the teen magazines of the time too like Smash Hits and Look In.

This film Made In England brings it all back. It is similar to my life story at that time as well only with me it was the other way around. I started hanging out with a group where I lived who I knew from school some of whom were punks and some skinheads and a couple who were mods.

By late 1984 I fell in with the punks who were slightly younger than me. They took me under their wing and took me to gigs and intorduced me to their punk friends they knew from across the city. I met loads of people through the punk scene most of them used to drink in city centre pubs on a Saturday afternoon and evening. As well as hanging about in the city centre most Saturdays in a place called Market Square on some seating. That was up in Stoke-on-Trent.
