Considering who muscular Christian Bale was in American Pshyco and then you seem him as skin on bones.... its amazing. Good story too !

Equilibrium is a good one too, again christian bale, but its basically the film of my favourite book '1984'.

Not the best film in the world but definetly worth watching tonight on filmfour if you are at a loose end.... The Magdalene Sisters at 9pm

Writer-director Peter Mullan's controversial fact-based drama starring Geraldine McEwan, Anne-Marie Duff, Nora-Jane Noone and Dorothy Duffy. In mid-1960s Ireland, three young women are sent against their will to work in one of the Magdalene Laundries run by the Catholic Church.

A perfect display of what people do to each other and try to justify it in the name of religion. well acted, great story and makes you feel a tiny amount of what the real characters must have felt, thats what makes this a great film imo.

p.s. American Beauty is simply amazing. Another great one would be The sixth sense... And Christian Bale. Well... Equilibrium (which I found to be quite similar to the Matrix - to me alone perhaps) and American Psycho (wow).

Nah, Equilibrium was far better. They actually had a decent cast. And they did it all on a $20 million budget. Plus how cool is "gun katana"?

Your right, it doesn't make any sense when you think of katan as the sword. However I think its just the name to all the fancy shooting/hand-to-hand combat the director/writer gave it. Still pretty cool through.
