Not the best film in the world but definetly worth watching tonight on filmfour if you are at a loose end.... The Magdalene Sisters at 9pm
Writer-director Peter Mullan's controversial fact-based drama starring Geraldine McEwan, Anne-Marie Duff, Nora-Jane Noone and Dorothy Duffy. In mid-1960s Ireland, three young women are sent against their will to work in one of the Magdalene Laundries run by the Catholic Church.
A perfect display of what people do to each other and try to justify it in the name of religion. well acted, great story and makes you feel a tiny amount of what the real characters must have felt, thats what makes this a great film imo.

p.s. American Beauty is simply amazing. Another great one would be The sixth sense... And Christian Bale. Well...
Equilibrium (which I found to be quite similar to the Matrix - to me alone perhaps) and American Psycho (wow).

Equilibrium was brilliant, very much overshadowed by the matrix

Nah, Equilibrium was far better. They actually had a decent cast. And they did it all on a $20 million budget. Plus how cool is "gun katana"?

Gun katana ? I rememeber hearing the fraise gun kata .But gun katana doesnt make a lot of sense and they did use katana's in the final combat scene. Did I miss something ?

Your right, it doesn't make any sense when you think of katan as the sword. However I think its just the name to all the fancy shooting/hand-to-hand combat the director/writer gave it. Still pretty cool through.
16.07.2007, 15:08 quote
So now Ill have to watch it again what a shame
