The old 70's classic tearjerker, Love Story hasn't been mentioned yet!
The Notebook is just Love Story remade using Alzheimer's instead of cancer.
Didn't mean to sound callous there!
To be honest, I never saw The Notebook, but I read the book years ago.

Oh, and The Elephant Man.
Code 46 - what a sad ending
Betty Blue - ditto!

ET & Green Mile spring to mind....I made a fool out of myself watching 16blocks in the cinema & I cried at the end when the black guy's dreams of owning his own shop etc come true. The happy ending usually get me more than the sad ones!

But recently i decided to buy World Trade Center & United 93 (couldnt decide between them so bought both). I can safely say that these are the most emotionally charged films I have ever seen in my life & it seemed like I was crying more often than not! Suppose its different when its a true story but they were both such powerful movies & very informative too, they give you an idea of the amount of people that were effected by the evil acts of 9/11 & show you things that no news coverage could ever depict, also of the heroic acts of everybody involved.

I still cant really decide which was better, United 93 was more factual & informative & the ending brings out so many mixed emotions of happiness, sadness, pity, anger, desperation, helplessness & many more, just about every emotion you can think of, but World Trade Center has to edge it for me probably just because of Nicolas Cage, the best actor af all time got even better upon playing his role in this mind-blowing film...

If you havent seen them both, make sure you do...I cant imagine how upsetting they would have been to watch on the big screen.

Ias it just me that's never actually cried during in a film? Even when I was a kid I never once cried at any point in any film due to a film related incident. I have spilt hot tea on myself during a film and that brought tears to my eyes, but I don't think it counts...
