hmm not sure if I should keep quiet about the fact I have every book Stephen King ever wrote (including non-fiction).. some poor folk don't know what they are missing.. unfortunately the majority of his books have been made into crap films (Green Mile and Shawshank being the exceptions, and perhaps the Shining, although still not as good as the book). My son always used to say I should go on Mastermind with him as my specialised subject lol

I don't see why you should keep quiet about it.

I'm not surprised that most of the film versions aren't any good, many of them would be very difficult to make into good ones, too long for several of them. I quite liked Misery too though and IT until the ending.

I do love some of his work but some of his later work doesn't keep me hooked like the old ones did. Not sure I managed to make it through the Buick 8 book.

He did have a bit of a rough patch after his accident.. I didn't care much for Gerald's Game..

Don't think I've read that one, last one I really enjoyed wholeheartedly was The girl who loved Tom Gordon.

A new short story compilation looks interesting but I'll wait for the paperback version.

I wasn't too interested in Gerald's Game. As i have already said The Girl Who loves Tom Gordon is really good.

Another more recent one that I liked was Insomnia and Cell (have I mentioned Cell already?) Both really worth reading IMHO.

I have read a lot of Stephen King. My favourite being The Stand, both the book and the television adaptation.

In relation to shorter stories the Shawshank Redemption is really good.

I recommend The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

I haven't had the chance to really get into to reading the last couple of years offerings though.

I'm trying to read Dream Catcher at the moment, but I've got a lot of stuff on at the moment so it's slow going.

its worth it to plough through Smile i love the way theres little links in all his books to other stories!

1- Secret Window- Don't want to ruin the story if you haven't seen it so all I'll say is my fave part is when he figures out whats going on.

2- The Stand- When Tom saves Stu

3- Misery- The whole movie was great
