Ok, any Steven King followers here?
Have read most of his books to date, but filmwise, my top three are as follows.
PET CEMETARY
THE SHINING
IT

What are your favourites, and best parts of the film.

Although not a big Stephen King fan, my favourite movie based on his work was The Shawshank Redemption.

Can't say I've read many of his books, the only one I can recall of the top of my head being The Stand - I prefer his short stories and novellas though, and have read most of those, from Night Shift through to Nightmares & Dreamscapes.

I havent read any of his book's either, but The Shining is one of my most favourite film's ever! Also Stand By Me is great and It is pretty good, although I thought the end was a bit of a let down. All that scary stuff with the clown, then you end up with a crappy spider!

Yeh! Stand By me was excellent too!

Actually, most of the films based on his short stories were good.

I have read a lot of Stephen King. My favourite being The Stand, both the book and the television adaptation.

In relation to shorter stories the Shawshank Redemption is really good.

I recommend The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

I haven't had the chance to really get into to reading the last couple of years offerings though.

I'm trying to read Dream Catcher at the moment, but I've got a lot of stuff on at the moment so it's slow going.

My favourite Stephen King book is Salem's Lot. Film was terrible though.

Also, I'm convinced that watching IT has led to my life long fear of clowns.

Misery is a golden oldie.

Cell is a good read too.

Started reading a few of his books yet never finished any of them. I never really understood his writing. Did nothing for me except enhancing the meaning of boredom.

Stephen King has been known to write under aliases at times, only for dedicated fans to "out" him.

I believe I'd read a couple of his books but I'm definitely more familiar with his films.

These days I tend to avoid modern Stephen King "branded" television after seeing the truly awful mini-series Storm of the Century. This is a shame as his earlier films were pretty good.

I liked that too, but didn't get a chance to see enough episodes for it to make any sense.

I saw the black and white, director's cut version of The Mist last night. Fantastic! Honestly, I thought this film was SOOOO good, really dark and messed up. Totally creepy. My mate's didnt rate it quite as highly as I did, but they did like it. I'm not sure what the original (and in colour) cinema release was like, I may check it out some time, I'm not sure because I enjoyed the director's cut so much, I dont want to spoil it. Anyway...it's going on my Crimbo list

Also, am I right in thinking Steven King wrote The Duel. That film was great.
