Whats it about

Apparently fans of lake placid will enjoy this one, now lake placid really let me down so i've decided to give it a miss, sounds a bit cheesy imo, an assassin want's some dude dead and so manages to get 400 deadly snakes on the plane, surely in this day and age it would be easier to get a bomb on board and simply blow it smithereens?? No?

It's a fun b-movie.
Anyone that tells you it's crap either doesn't appreciate that fact, or only enjoys highly intelligent films.
You've just gotta learn to switch off your brain and enjoy - it's surprisingly good for such a simple film.

Surely this has got to be down to opinion.
Doesn't sound quite right from my earlier post admittedly, each and to ones own?

Nope, not even slightly - this particular film is an exception. The title of the film explains EXACTLY what you're going to get 90 minutes of. If you go expecting something awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping and an utter masterpiece - you're going to be disappointed, and hence didn't understand in the first place this is a B-movie.
It's the same with "Slither" which came out earlier in the year. The critics loved it (they like Snakes on a plane too) and it's because they appreciate it as a B-movie.
If you went to see WTC, you'd be expecting something stunning and emotional, you're entitled to opine on that. But a film called Snakes on a Plane? It's not justified for you to go see the film, knowing full well it's going to be cheesy, then come out and complain it was crap. It's like buying a run-down car to go racing in then complaining because it doesn't do more than 50mph.

Why did they have Samuel L. Jackson in it, as we know, he is a top movie star.
Did they know it wasn't going to be that good a movie, so they incorporate Samuel L. Jackson to encourage a/an audience to go view it.
Anyway like I say, it's to each his own.

Actually the reason Samuel L Jackson signed on for the project was solely because he read the title of the script and thought it was awesome.
Saying that, Samuel L Jackson's been in pretty much every movie made since pulp fiction. He'll do pretty much anything for money, but at least he's still cool.
As I said before - it's a film about snakes on a plane - it's simple light-hearted B-movie action. If that don't float your boat, then you can give it a miss - but you never know, you might find it fun

Watched it last night. Have to agree with swiss on this one: leave your brain at the door and it is a fun filled riot of a movie. ![]()
