Yet another total failure of an attempt at a sitcom from the BBC. When was the last time we had a truly class sitcom for our license fee's? Perhaps gavin and Stacey has been the funniest thing to come from the BBC in years, it is slightly predicable and repetitive though.

I think it will get better, in terms of writing and characters etc. Some people I know think it will become a classic. But one thing that needs to be done is to get someone else (who can act) to play Miranda! Razz
It reminds me of Seinfeld: he was the weakest actor in the show. OK, he got better, as time went on.
Miranda Hart might too, but it might take too long! Confused

I think a lot of the comedy died with political correctness.

Remember the old classics like "On the Busses", "Love thy Neighbour", "Sykes"? Even the old Carry On films came before political correctness.

Now, you can't even crack a joke without the fear of offending someone so what chance has any sitcom got?

bbc seem to be leading the way with this clampdown on offensive material - they seem to prefer michael mcintyre and his one trick style over a frankie boyle style of comic

I'm thinking that even some sitcoms this decade that wouldn't get to air now. I'm of the opinion that nothing should be out of bounds with comedy. Yes, jokes about paedophiles are funny, see frankie boyle for reference.

Ive watched every episode so far, mainly becuase I listened to the radio series (basially the same script) before, and that wasnt too bad. When i saw the first episode on the TV though i nearly just turned it off after the first "trip and canned laughter" bit... I agree it's a very boring sitcom but Miranda Hart's always awesome :p
