It was EPIC. I'm going to see it again during the week. I love Marvel. And Robert Downey Jr. And Sacrlett Johansen. *sigh*

I'm just waiting for my local cinema to get it, then I'll be going to see it. The difference is about £15 in price when factoring in travel, and my local cinema lets you take in booze if you want to.

I've seen it twice already, on the 29th April with my mates and then again with my son last week.

Enjoyed it both times, it's not perfect and does tail off a little in the middle. It also suffers the same problem as the first in that the big 'boss' battle is over far too quickly.

BUT Robert Downey Jnr. was born for this role, gives me a broner every time he's on screen.

Gweneth Paltrow doesn't annoy me in this like she does in everything else, although she's a little too skinny in this.

Scarlett Johanssen is very understated until the final act when she kicks some serious ass.

Only person I wasn't sold on was Don Cheadle as War Machine, it wasn't anything he did but I didn't see anything wrong with the original Roady.

The Iron Man armour is done brilliantly and looks like I could just go out and give it a try myself. I'll certainly be buying this on Blu-ray when it comes out.

Scott

Too much talking, not enough wit or action as part one but a solid sequel all the same, Part 3 needs to be a tad darker, move the story forward, get Tony's drink problem more of a plot arc and get a more developed villain on board. As great as Jeff Bridges and Mickey Rourke were, their roles were pretty one note. Still thank feck for Robert Downey Jr. taking on the suit and setting a standard in modern superhero performances! Smile

I would agree that it could have done with a bit more action, but I think it was good overall. I'm not sure they really need to go darker with the third one, but a slight change of pace would probably be a benefit. A villain that doesn't have his own suit might also be good.

Probably making the Villain for the third the mandarin would be a good idea. I've always considered him to be the main Villain in the Iron Man comics, though it might be a bit late to get anything really going.
I've heard that Fin Fang Foom may be the main villain in the Thor movie (which I guess kind of makes sense, being a Dragon, though he is an Iron Man villain) so that rules out his use in any way.

They have made allusions to the Mandarin, especially in the first where there was an organisation called 'The Ten Rings' or similar.

I've always considered him Iron Man's nemesis too.

I remember that now, I mentioned it to my friend when we were watching it. It might be possible for them to do it, but it'd probably need some seriously good writing.
I'd also have liked to have seen them do more with Justin Hammer, and maybe have kept him as an older Englishman.
