Anyone else here a big fan of Hammer Horror and British horror films made in the 50's, 60's & 70's, movies starring the likes of Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee & Vincent Price?

With titles like Scream and Scream Again, Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, Blood On Satan's Claw, The House That Dripped Blood, Twins Of Evil and The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires they might sound cheesy to some but are super-stylish to those who love this era of British film-making.

Yep, defo - I love 'em! I think the old scary movies were better in a way cuz you had to use your imagination mostly to scare yourself witless. Nowadays its all just thrown at your eyeballs.

I aminly love anything with Vincent Price in it, he'd fantastic. I do like Hammer Horror, though mainly because I find it very, very funny. They haven't aged well, but they are fantastic still.

The old hammer horrors are a guilty pleasure of mine. Some are surprisingly good and well made (Quatermass Xperiment, Hound of the Baskervilles) and while some are just lame (Plague of Zombies for example which at least has Andre Morell in to make it watchable).

Quality films with some of my favorite actors especially Christopher Lee. I can see why people might look at them as cheesy but old school horror and sci-fi was fantastic for it's time.

Loved the way that era of horror films used Victorian and early 20th century period settings, all ties in with my love of Lovecraft and Poe.

Couldn't agree more nellyboy1972.

Just watched the richly atmospheric 'Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell' again...amazing how the 90 minutes flew by - I find it hard getting past the first 15 minutes with today's horror films.
