Bladerunner, the original Starwars.
Why has no one mentioned Logan's Run?? I LOVE that film!

LOGAN'S RUN ?? Going old school are we? Alright, let's talk old school then. I gotta agree, Logan's Run was a great film. Let's see what else I can remember.....
1] The Omega Man [with Chuck Heston starring as Dr. Neville, a one-man army against shades-wearing plague-stricken mutants]
2] MAD MAX !!!!! [starring a young Mel Gibson as a highway cop who loses his family and goes batsh*t on the bikers responsible, damn fine ending]
2] Zardoz [starring red-diaper wearing Sean Connery as a killer who worships a flying head in the future, I'm not f***ing kidding]
3] West World [starring Yul Brenner as a malfunctioning cowboy robot in a futuristic Western theme park who goes on rampage]
Anybody else got any old school 70's/early 80's flicks??????

Bladerunner - vangelis filmscore alone is fantastic. great casting, great performances.
Tron -the special effects just blew me away first time I saw it, was heavily into arcade games at the time so struck a chord.
Darkstar - hippie stonerdom, very funny.
Demonseed - quite disturbing I found this film, slight nod to george orwell/aldous huxley.
eXistenZ - apart from jude law (again!) & a dodgy script, quite enjoyed this but I like cronenbergs films.
Eraserhead - I know not strictly sci-fi but very weird & surreal, open to many interpretations as to what it is actually about. stays with you once you've seen it.

I prefered Videodrome - very similar theme but he (cronenberg) treated it so much better that time
