sylvester stallone in any of his self directed movies, he usually comes up with some half assed speach about individuality, love, courage etc, must be his cancerian nature Wink

Another one for the collection...

George Clooney in Solaris (yes, shite film I know). Not so much a monologue but his rendition of And Death Shall Have No Dominion. Its a cracking poem as it is, but delivered by The Clooney its made even better. No wonder hes beating them off with a shitty stick when he has a voice like that.

I'm surprized nobody mentioned Cnl. Jessup's speech from the witness box in "A Few Good Men"

iris: I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade.

maybe a bit of Lester Burhnam, in American Beauty:

"I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time... For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp, watching falling stars... And yellow leaves, from the maple trees, that lined my street... Or my grandmother's hands, and the way her skin seemed like paper... And the first time I saw my cousin Tony's brand new Firebird... And Janie... And Janie... And... Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday. "

and maybe one short monologue of Michael in the Michael movie:

"It's going well... It's a difficult case though. To give a man back his heart... Hmmm, listen... Listen to the earth. Uhmmm, I'm gonna miss everything so much. And remember, Sparky, no matter what they tell you, you can never have too much sugar."

And one last one, from the many monologues in You've got m@il (I had to give this meooooow):

Kathleen Kelly: "What will NY152 say today I wonder. I turn on my computer. I wait impatiently as it connects. I go online, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You've got mail. I hear nothing. Not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beating of my own heart. I have mail. From you."

Doubt many people will have watched it but Marlon Brando's i could have been a contender speech in On the Waterfront has to go down as one of the best in history same with Taxi Driver monologue they were both improvised by the actors which I find so great about them.

Plus I like the start of Swordfish where John Travolta is giving the speech to Don Cheadle pity the rest of the film was crap!

I love Billy the Kid's wee catchphrase before he kills someone in Young Guns "I'll make ya famous" and Rhett Buttlers "Frankly my dear...". In fact there's quite a few in "Gone With The Wind" that I like.
