| I like really bad B Movie horrors, or foreign horror films. Japanese and South Koreans definitely make the best. I implore anybody that is considering watching a hollywood remake of a Japanese or South Korean horror to completely ignore it and watch the original instead. Much more atmosphere.
As for B movies, their ridiculousness is what makes them so great, they're so bad that you start to ignore any facet of the film that is ridiculous (pretty much all of it) and start really thinking about the ideas behind them. |
Yea i really like The EVIL DEAD trilogy, god they were made on a low budget yet were really fun to watch, also The People Under The Stairs is a great wee film too.You used to get loads of low budget films back in the days of VIDEO and i remember a B movie called House which was a funny horror.Oh and who has seen House of 1000 Corpses ?????

The Exorcist by far is the scariest movie I've ever seen. Managed to watch the whole movie alone at night the other day.

And to add to the above:
My fave’ horror films are real-life experiences from Internet dating, which I use within my writing. You can learn a lot from horror films – in relation to dating, especially from people’s eyes. Consider the eyes of the following people:
1. A child cowering in a corner watching it’s parents fighting
2. A drunken woman in a psychotic marriage sarcastically arguing with her equally screwed up husband
3. A person who's just been grabbed around the throat from the front
4. Someone doped-up looking out of a window into space, having contemplated suicide moments earlier
5. An analytical psycho who hates you and wants you to sadistically suffer, but acts supportive
6. A sociopath having a conversation with his/her next victim and planning things in his/her mind
Now... review people’s profile photos on here very carefully. If you see any eyes present that give the slightest hint of any of the above eye-expressions, then walk away. You’ll be really glad you did!

I watched "Session 9" the other night. Low budget, and well acted; by actors rather than wannabe movie stars, including the ever dependable Peter Mullan. It was written with the specific location (Danvers State Hospital) where it was shot in mind. A creepy and unsettling movie

Alien (1979, by Ridley Scott), but it was named several times before...
Plus Phantasm (2nd part is most exciting, IMHO) - this haunting melody is worth the whole story.

Amityville 2: The posession
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA_QDQnLDsI
The bit with the wrapping on the door was very scary.
I was watching that scene and somebody started wrapping my door, luckily it was just a friend with some beers
Also the scary music when the camera pans down the stairs and a sheet is thrown across the crucifix is quite eerie.

I must admit the horror movies rarely see them but I of what I have seen the best horror was "hills have eyes"
