Im not too fussed if no one reads this post - I just needed to vent my anger after watching another awful edition of Deal Or No Deal.

Am I the only one who is sick of watching people on telly share their sob stories before trying to win ludicrous amounts of money for sitting and picking boxes?Given the current economic climate I find it ridiculous that shows can give away anything upto 250,000 on a daily basis.

Bring back Bully,Catchphrase,Family Fortunes ,Wheel Of Fortune back to mainstream telly is what I say.(And I dont mean the awful celeb versions)

To me it was great watching genuine salt of the earth folk enjoying themselves in the hope of winning a few measly quid.back then it was the taking part that counted. Not sitting in a chair and knocking back 12 grand in the hope of being greedy/lucky and winning a quater of a million.

The presenters too were great - sure Bruce and Jim Bowen would balls up from time to time and some their catchphrases were cheesy but its better than getting a polished preformance from a vernon kay clone that has no heart in it.You always got the feeling Jim Bowen,Roy Walker ect would talk to the contestnats after a show,The veronon kays of the world are only interested if its some some z list actor from Hollyoakes or Holby City standing infront of them.

But no we the viewing public dont want this anymore do we? we want sob stories and the sight of everyday people gambling away thousands of pounds for entertainment purposes. Its just another side effect Of Diana's death more than a decade ago.We have become a nation of bleeding hearts since that day!!!!!!

RANT OVER!

Totally agree with you Jack. It really pisses me off when I see these people playing a game of no skill for such massive amounts of money. They might as well call the game 'Pick A Number', it is no more than a fairground attraction. It is as much a game as 'throw the hoop over the bottle to win a stuffed toy'. It fucks me off that these people seem to believe that they deserve more money than is being offered. Also, how do they manage to drag out a game of pick a number between 1 and 20 to over half an hour?
Bring back the days when you had 2 blokes from Birmingham trying to win a speedboat, a washing machine or a nice decanter.
