Just got back from seeing it too. Great Movie, Great Stunts, Great Action. They also had a guy being chased by Bond near the Beginning performing Free Running ( Le Parkour ) See posts about District 13.

Why was Judy Dench in it, she was previously in the Brosnan ones which is at the top of the time line and Casino Royale is the very first Bond film.

Enjoyable film overall but i have to say i didn't like the end.

Regards

Lee

Casino Royale was updated to be in a modern setting. All the Judi Dench films (Brosnan Era) were not Ian Flemming books, so in order of film release - it makes sense to have M, which is what they've done. It's also a familiar face for people. The BOOK of Casino Royale was set waaay back, so I can see where you're coming from - it's just been revised, which personally I think makes a whole lot of sense.

The film was excellent, I knew Craig would be an excellent Bond. My criticism lies in the length of the film, or perhaps it's pacing. I liked the end. I thought it was going to go all sappy - then it has an entirely new action sequence. But we were given 25 minutes of adverts (with only 3 trailers) before the showing, making it an extremely hefty showing for all involved. Perhaps the film wasn't too long, it was just the ads that made it ridiculous. There were 3 adverts promoting Bond products, each one used pretty much the same footage to promote the product - making scenes from the film tire quickly.

The cars were awesome. The girls were sexy (well, the first one was. The "Bond Girl" herself was disappointing in my eyes). Everything exploded nicely and it all felt much more refreshing.

I'm undecided on the new "intro" but the new "gunsight" was some of the cheesiest looking CGI ever. It looked abysmal

On a final note - Bond was booked out in both my local cinemas, for all 3 evening showings - in TWO screens in each cinema for 3 days straight. Explains why they increased the advertising time then Rolling Eyes

I haven't seen it. Nor do I ever want to.
It seems they've rebooted the Bond series. That's bloody ridiculous! Mad

Well as cute as you are Sean (must be something in the name Wink ), i have to say I've always been a Bond fan. Enjoyed the film very much. My only quip with it was the love interest. Bond has loved and lost before, did he really need to do so again?

I like a good romance, but keep it for romance films!!

Actually, (anorak moment) he did Red - If you read the books it was the loss of this love interest (remember that this is the "birth" of Bond) that cemented his decision to become a "00".

er.. you saying... yep, just realised, they did the first one again!!!

As an aside, wasn't there a spoof Bond movie called Casino Royale starring David Niven and a whole host of well known names/faces?

I actually went to see it this afternoon, and was quite impressed. I'm not really a bond fan, either.
