It seems 300 is gonna be awesome movie, i am looking forward it impatiently.

but my only concern is it will be full of effects, so the atmosphere in the movie will be extremely fake. i dont think it will be very impresive bocz of that reason. What do you think guys?

it looks amazing - same guy who done Sin City and story by comic book legend Frank Miller. But the acting does look duff. Really duff. Still I can't wait for it - got to be better than some of the nonsense I've seen at flicks lately: Outlaw was utter crap.

This has to be the campest film ever made. I saw it at the Waterloo iMAX the other night. It was visually amazing with wonderful fight scenes - body parts flying all over the screen. If you can stomach the ridiculously athletic men in tight pants spouting utter wooden crap, then you're in for a treat.

Like someone else says it is based on a true event. Around 300 of the greatest warriors that Greece had at the time took on the might of the Persian army and inflicted as much damage as they could. They faced a Persian army of 250,000 and led them into a narrow pass where they launched an ambush. All of the Greeks were eventually killed though, but the event has gone down in history as an extremely heroic act, rather like the evacuation of Dunkirk in World War II where a trapped British army had to fight a desperate retreat to avoid thousands of them being taken prisoner.

...know the story but in the original did the 300 greeks look and act like the gayest Scotsmen ever? If so, it could help explain why they were so successful in warding off the Persians for so long...

I really liked the effects, it got all lord of the rings as it went on though.I don't really see what was so 'duff' about the acting, but the script was cliche. Plus what's with that goat playing some instrument?

the film was amazing. the fighting parts were awsome. looked like some new ways of showing fighting.

as for the film being based on a true event not to sure about that i think it was another greek mythology. like troy and achillies. all about the meaning

No, It's based on a comic- which is based on a real event. There's a difference, 'cos I don't think it would have been so stylised or unique if it wasn't.

Do you not think?

Ohhhhh I thought the spartans had 10 feet men and singing goats and then you tell me it was a comic book stylised version!

You have ruined my Easter!
