yes I thought place was in the former Russia one of the many satelite states and for the french sounding place as well "Cote ...." how do they get computers when they are so poor and we keep sending cash aid to them...

They run from a sort of 'PC bank' supplied to them -and it's quite a business out there in Africa !! It's surprising that after all the warnings they still catch people !!

Seriously, when you hand an old computer over to your local authority in the UK to dispose of it safely, they sell them to third world countries, who then refurbish them (stealing your identity in passing if they can).
Next time you junk a PC, make sure the hard disk is NOT in it. Junk that yourself with a big hammer, and a hacksaw before dumping it.

should be standard practise, my standard practise is to attach a big magnet to said hard-drive for a day or two, then taike it to pieces and physically chop up the disk matter before burning whats left

Smashing up a hard drive is a bit over the top. best thing to do is take it from the old machine and set it up as a slave drive in your new machine.
