Well hi all, talk about being unlucky I actually work out in Nigeria for a large oil company on a 5 week on/off rotation .I am an expat out there and when I’m not I live in my house Milton Keynes with my son .Well what my gripe is that try getting to the point that you tell someone where you work and not be tarred with the fear of 419ers..Talk about an instant conversation/Mail stopper, Quite literally I haven’t had a reply after this part of the “getting to know each other” .I cant help but think I wouldn’t get this reaction if I worked in Saudi. Ps NO I don’t need money/plane fare/help with my college fund lol

And, sadly, scare-mongers make it even more difficult for people like you by squealing ‘scammer’ at the drop of a hat. I wouldn’t mind betting that many people using this site have Nigeria/Nigerian IP addresses blocked in the list of people and countries disallowed in their profile settings too.

You’re not alone with this problem either – there was a lovely Russian lady who used the forum earlier this year, who even had her profile deleted a couple of times because people she contacted through the site reported her as a scammer (based purely on the fact that she was based in Russia). In fact, as I found out over a period of time, she was a genuine, warm, intelligent, educated, business woman who spoke excellent English, and had it not been for a) her aviaphobia and b) the distance, I would have pursued the friendship further.

Sorry, not much help to you, just an empathetic view on your problem, and hope that things work out for you anyway.

Well Phill35 you got a reply and many more for over three weeks... Phone calls, emails and texts. We talked about things that were very intimate and private to us both. We talked about meeting, had it all but arranged. Flirted outrageously with eachother and I really thought you were a genuine guy.

But it would seem not. All of a sudden I get blocked from your profile, my texts, calls and emails are totally ignored and not even so much as "you know what your not my type, its been fun. Take care".... So may I suggest you bring this attitude towards you upon yourself? Or maybe just stay in Nigeria and do us Brit girls a favour....?
