Seeing that URL was missing I searched for an alternative only to find that most sites were more interested in telling you how to set you own premium sites up or listing other peoples.

So instead here is a reputable site I know that allows people to find alternatives to the premium 0870 sites that legitimate companies use.

OK, after some work with Google the site that appears to do the job of the original, missing link is http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/numberchecker/

It claims to be the site of the UK regulator for premium phone services and I subjected it to some minimal testing by seeing if it knew about 118118. Everything that came back looked legit.
