Ah the classic scam in all its glory.

Be it a princess in trouble, an african oil baron looking to deposit huge sums of money in your account or just the usual help! send me a western union cheque to help me out of a nasty situation.

They all pretty much amount to the same 419 fraud as its know in nigeria named after the penal code number its been given by the police.

There is however fun to be had at the EXPENSE of the scammers.

I direct you to http://www.419eater.com/

This little gem is responsible for the new online sport of SCAM BAITING.
So what is scambaiting? Well, put simply, you enter into a dialogue with scammers, simply to waste their precious time and resources. Whilst you are doing this, you will be helping to keep the scammers away from real potential victims and screwing around with the minds of deserving thieves.

Anyway i've had much fun posing as RACHEL DESCRIMINATION (yeah they still dont get it!) and using a photo of barbara streisand i'm apparantly very attractive so the scammers say. something any western sane mind would query!

enjoy...

be sure to check out the trophy room

proof scammers will do anything at the hint of money and also proof their english is very very very bad!

It annoys the scammers when you tell them that western union is the bank of choice of thieves - they dont know what to do.

Back to winding them up, it keeps them talking and wasting their time for longer as they try to persuade you to use Western Union.

Heard about that Booski,
Just a quick description if it - they buy old PC's from the UK. Apparantly its in a programme to help the developing countries which is good, to sell them good, but slightly out of date computers to help their industries.

Anyway back to the Scam. They get old PC's from here, and look through all the files on them (remember, deleting a file from the PC wont remove it, just take it out of the pc's file index system - the Data is still on the disk (a bit like taking a book from the library shelf - the book still exists but cant be found by normal means)). On some of the files they might find YOUR bank details and use them. So moral here is to remove the Hard disk before donating PC's to charity or use a really good file deletion programme that overwrites data on the whol;e hard disk.
