      Hi all,

I'm a Canadian girl, and I'm making plans for a trip to this area of Scotland to take place sometime next year. I'm wondering if there's any places/events I should take into consideration. Also I would like to get some opinions on what time of year is best for travelling around there.

      Ta!

hey i live in edinburgh and the best time to come is in august when the 'fringe festival' is on , it involves street perfomers stretching from the west end of edinburgh to hunters square and th eold town and free shows and a huge fireworks display on the last night and it lasts about 3-4 weeks.

thats the best time to come for things going on and i would reccomend taking a look into going to camera obscura its only about a 20 minute walk fromt he city centre and worth your while.

      later xx

Edinburgh is great and the Falkirk wheel is an Engineering masterpiece but you should also take in the natural beauty of the highlands which just for plain old fashioned scenery will always take your breath away. The trip from kyle of Lockalsh to Inverness is great and always makes me stop to take photo's and i have lived in the highlands all my life ( never a similar picture )
