They can work, but can cause a lot of problems when they break up.

In my case, we both worked for a small company that has a high turnover of staff, so we'd both got other jobs within a year or so. She left first, then i found another job about 6 months later. I'm probably pessimistic but after a couple of months at the new place, i started getting the cold shoulder. Don't think she was having an affair because she wasn't that sort but i'd bet a large sum of money that there was someone else, work related, waiting behind the scenes.

She was a very flirty sort of woman and we'd flirt outrageously when we worked together. It was kinda fun cos nobody knew we were a couple which kept our relationship very fresh, almost as though we'd just met. So although work brought us together, it also parted us because her flirtiness was targetted at new work colleagues. It was fun while it lasted.

Actually, I withdraw my previous comment, because there is someone at my work who I find sweet and attractive, but I don't get to talk much to her as I'm only part time. So I'm hoping to get to know her a bit more and maybe make the first move.

There's never enough time to try and get to know some christmas temps, in the past year a great deal of them have quit before they could even be offered a full job there.

i met my ex through work and went on to have a long term relationship with her and it caused no problems - we worked together for about 2 years all in out of the 6 we were together.

worst thing with work relationships tho are if it does end and becomes messy it can cause nothing but grief for either one of you if not both

Went along with it and did exactly as I said I would do, got talking to her and asked if she wanted go out and she replied "Oh I'm sorry but my boyfriend wouldn't be too happy" and I just smiled and said "Oh, OK, speak to you later". I'm not disappointed, but at least I tried.

That's a shame. But at least you found out.
