Aside from all the guff about what makes people do it, etc, etc, you have to remember the simple fact that the Internet is full of sad, desperate losers and mentalists. It's as simple as that really.

At least you can say no thanks, block people and move on with internet communication. If things turn awkward when you are meeting someone face to face it can be a little more difficult.

Like moose says, the internet it teeming with weird, desperate characters who think that life on the web is their easy route to whatever perverse fulfilment they seek.

I was a very naive, demure lass, trusting everyone, when I first joined! THEN I met this rabble, and its been downhill all the way!
(and I'm loving my education here!)

(and I'll have you know, I didnt even click on the "Sex" section for about 6 months, I was too embarrassed to even look while sat here alone, and that's the truth!) Embarassed

Some people lose their inhibitions online - saying things that they probably would not say in person.

Saying that I prefer people to be themselves - its just that vulgarity probably doesn't do it for me! (though in the heat etc..... Embarassed )

I just hope romance is not dead... UT

I can't help but wonder... If someone wants sex alone. Why don't they just say: Hey, are you up for a sex thang, nsa? That lick yer whatever thang... That's just something some bla would yell after you on the street in a rough neighborhood. And not even that...

I don't get it.

You'll have to excuse me tonite, I'm quite blurry. =)))

No, cant say i've lost my inhibitions online at all. I am who I am. But, at home alone i've started reading threads on here that i would never get into that kind of convo in real life, and to be honest, there is VERY VERY little that i would say on here that i wouldnt say in real life either. But i am nonetheless enjoying myself and learning a thing or two here!

But what always amazes me (though I am not sure why) is that these are actually real people - I mean what is it with them?

I just can't get it - maybe I am naive or just missing the point of it all.

I wonder if they are trying to just get something out of their system or are they really that shallow.

I reckon that some are just taking the p*ss, and the rest are just interested in the seedy side of the internet dating thing.

And NO, Choochio, I wouldn't do you with a strap-on.

They aren't my thang see....
