I personally HATE the mails that just say 'hi'.

Makes me think that the person who is sending it is sending it 100 times to different women and hoping one will respond.

Also it is always the ones with no pic and nothing on their profiles that say just 'hi' ........... gives me NOTHING to go on even if I did want to respond to them!

well i dont message women on here anymore cos quite simply its a waste of time. any that did reply didnt even bother to say anything worthy of a reply back from me because it was so mediocre and boring that id just left it at that. with the exception of one woman, whom i am still great friends with on this forum because she actually took the trouble to to engage with me rather than make a snap judgement i suppose.

i think some men would probably copy and paste the same message to alot of women quite simply because they are bored of not getting any replies and want to cantact more women on the basis that they think the more they contact the more chances of replies they will get? although thats not really the best way to go about it, you can hardly blame them when the amount of women on here seem to say that they wouldnt contact a man first.
it seems to me there are many ladies on here who say that they wouldnt contact a man first, its a bit rich if you then post on here and moan about the quality of the messages in your inbox, if you arnt actually prepared to make the first contact yourself. i can understand you saying about the stupid messages and the pervy ones, they would obviously be irritating, but its far easier to be cynical and do nothing than write a message to a stranger in the hope of getting a reply and starting a new friendship.

just as a footnote, im not aiming my comments at anybody in particular, and im sure their are women on here that do send out messages to blokes they liked, but it does seem that quite a few of you have said that you dont message men first, im quite sure that you can give me plenty of reasons as to why you dont. its a 2 way street, and if you only drive down it one way, you will only experience it in one way. like i say, i stopped messaging women on here, mainly because i had enough of wasting my time getting no replys or half arsed replies that didnt warrnat a second look.

Too bloody true Scottie 69 Im getting bored now as ive mssged loads and all i get is two or three words strung together as if to humour you .. ladies forget the pervs if you make an effort on here we then know youre worth investing in and what does piss me right off is you get pics of women in teasing type poses full of cleavage and legs n stuff and then u wonder why u get stupid dumb mssges from the idiots and then claim to want total love and devotion well from a male view it aint gonna happen as youre impression is youre "up for it and ez" so youre going to attract the types you dont want . So instead you try seeking us out and mailing us as its boring to read on youre profiles "Fed up with waiting and getting wrong types about to give up Bla bla bla sympathy vote bla............Infact all just turn lesbian and give us a fresh batch of flirtbox women

If I have something t go on in a message, I'll reply most of the time, even if I'm not interested. And if I'm not interested, these days I say so.

I cannot reply tho' to a message that simply says 'hi' or 'hi sexy'. It gives me nothing to go on what-so-ever and shows a complete lack of imagination.

I am one of those who doesn't message first; I used to (on a couple of other sites) and gave up, because nobody who I liked the look of and to whom I'd sent my carefully-crafted openers ever replied. It's just as gutting for the ladies, you know.

Decided I could probably preserve a bit of self-esteem by only engaging with guys who had already shown a bit of interest in me. Playing it VERY safe!

MMM still not convinced after you fight through the criteria of what a man should shouldnt do on what you read it does leave little room for individuality hence causing the same boring old messages basically were afraid of offending or some are where are the witty women
