You have to bear in mind that the people on the main site don't know ya, so they don't know how wonderful you might be.
I wouldn't be at all gutted about messaging some stranger on there and being ignored.
What WOULD upset me is if I messaged one of you guys and it got ignored, that would really hurt my feelings (not that it has happened yet though)....

So there you have it, please don't hurt my gentle feelings, cos I am delicate (and I have a can of petrol in the shed ready and waiting to go)

I dont message people on the main site. I do however, message people off the forums. Simple reason being that i know them better and through their posts. Come to think of it, it's highly improbable that messaging someone you never met out of the blue with no prior form of contact and getting your message ignored and/or deleted would come as a surprise.
the Real World (tm) equivalent of being told that you simply dont interest that person in the least.
When i joined the site, i sent off quite a few messages - and most got promptly binned - no skin off my back.
then i found the forums, and let's just say this thing is like a good drink, one taste and you find yourself buying the next round. i just never went back to the site.
since then, i've talked to, messaged and met people from on here - i'd say that approach has ensured in a way that any message i send (if any at all, dont write to many) is not deleted and binned without so much as a look
