Ok so assuming that I am not completely on my own. We have all had some ongoing communications with other people that have just disolved into the ether. Which is just a tad frustrating when you have invested time and thought into trying to know the other person better.

So is there anything that blows the whole conversation? I know you shouldn't push too soon, build up trust, but there is also the "if I don't show more active interest they will feel this is going nowhere.

On another thread it has already been pointed out that there is no manual. But are there hints (cheat sheet maybe)?

Yep, I have read that other thread and it was interesting. Honestly I am practicising my smile, my humour and being sincere. The other bits about good looking may need a visit to a plastic retuck shop.

What I am curious about here is the don'ts. I suspect if I listed the most common chat-up lines then they would feature highly here.

No mam, honest I am always polite and respectful. I believe the aim is to encourage contacts. And I was brought up with a few philosophies of manners and ways to treat a lady. Cling to old fashion beliefs about flowers, chocolates and holding doors open. Bit hard to convey that sincerely in a virtual environment.

was this because he wrote how he felt, made his feelings clear by how he wrote?expressed and came across in his words?
just trying to highlight here how, if you are yourself, even though in a virtual dating enviroment, the real you is seen, and how easy it is..

To be expressive and say how it is gives an insite to another.... more importantly a mental picture of what we would all like to happen!
