There was one Messiah... and his job surely wasn't to help people get laid... You might need to rethink what your mission here is... and if it is needed at all.

I have got it Krian, why don't you go up to a woman and say, "I need a female opinion on something, my friend thinks that pick up techniques are good and I think that they are rubbish, what do you as a woman think of them?"

Then report back here with the answers they give you.

I told him they're shit.

i think pick up techniques would work on some women and others no i tell you why they may not work for some as it may be classed as over confident/cocky and that is not always an attractive trait

I told him I find them degrading, because it means you treat women like objects and not people.

By the way there is certainly no shortage of reading material on the subject of pick up techniques. These are just a small sample of the numerous books on the subject.

I’ve been avoiding this thread cos I dislike the idea that people are so lacking in social skills that they need someone to ‘teach’ them to pick up women, or (from the book titles above) get them into bed. Kind of goes hand in hand with that idea that if one uses some kind of chemical pheromone they’ll ‘pull’.

But there you go, the words horses and courses spring to mind.

The horse for my course is natural emotional and physical attraction. And if there isn’t any attraction in the first place, then it’s not really worth the effort. I don’t see the point in ‘pulling’ someone by manipulating their mind or fooling them into thinking you’re someone or something that you’re not (which is basically what these articles and books are about, depending on ones point of view). In a nutshell, it’s a pretty shallow way of getting laid. In addition, it seems to me that this is more an exercise of being able to 'pull' someone who might usually be out of one's reach, thus becoming a game to boost an ego. Bed post notching also springs to mind.

I agree with most of that. As a follow up to my [hopefully not too crass] post above. These techniques are only probably going to work for men between 25 - 35 that are probably attractive to start with. They will just bring disappointment for men that are not really up to it.

This is my last post in this thread other then ridicule. Wink

There you go. If you're not up to your neck in shepherd's daughters in a fortnight I'll give you your money back.
