is it really acceptable for anyone over the age of twenty to be communicating in chav/text speak? and by this i mean this type of thing: "ello babe i tink yoo iz fit"

for me this type of communication denotes a cretin, somebody who's family have yet to discover fire. this kind of thing would make me think that the sender is:

A. a massive bulldog fan

B. skint

C. an ill fitting tracksuit enthusiast

D. someone with an extensive benefit package in place

E. a staunch wearer of reebok pub slippers

does this sort of writing style conjure up negative images for you lot? or are you a fan? (or possibly someone who knows no different?)

It is rather irritating if they have no reason for it. It will probably be seen more on forums as more people use their phones to access them.

Surely if they are D they shouldn't be B?

Personally I worry just as much about people who are unable to use capital letters.

hmmm.. ermmm.... mmmmmmm.... oh no, sorry. your reply lacked both the wit and the jocularity that might of evinced a proper reply from yours truly. if however, you can raise your game in the future, maybe we can do business..

those type of replies would make me wonder if the sender was still at school! some just cant be bothered to send proper replies and it does make people appear thick.
