I think tattoos, when given enough thought, can be works of art in their own right. I do think it's important that they bear some importance to a person though, I especially like tattoos that others have designed from scratch, as it means that it'll be completely original.

I have a friend who's getting a spiderman themed tattoo tomorrow for his 18th, and I dunno how much thought he's put into it =/ I'm worried he might regret this choice in a few years time!

A superman tattoe, could be a real mistake.

I got mine a few years ago after years of thought.
The problem is it can be addictive, cos' I want another one. The biggest problem is the work of art has to be designed and thought about.
And then you need to think about where you have it.

I want something that is connected to my other one.(Pegasus) So, I'm reading up on Greek Mythology.

Im quite the Tattoo nut myself. Only 5 at the moment. Some more visible than others, and some not hideable (Is that even a word?) I think tattoo's can be sexy on a woman, unless its of her ex or something equally disturbing.

I ran into a guy the other day who had the name Lorraine tattooed across his throat, like from one ear to the other... Turns out its his ex. Some people dont put alot of thought into what they're doing I suppose.

I have 6 tattoos at the moment, and currently saving for the full sleeves on each side, all my own designs and a little different, one bad call on a tat when I was 15 but that will get covered with the upcoming stuff

Hopefully if I can afford my whole design it should cover most of my body other than head and hands.. but thats a long way off.

Tattoos on girls can be very nice, just depends on if its some disney crap or something actually artful and original.. nothing out of a catalogue or artists handbook unless no one else has it!
