Well I just thought it was politer than saying maybe the young lady in question chose (using her free will) not to get in touch.

If the guy out and asks for a phone number she's either going to give it to him, or give him a fake one (isnt there summat like that on the radio, "Flirt Divert"?) or not answer when he rings, or...........with luck, she'll be really pleased he rang and will want to speak to him and get to know him better.
But simply giving your phone number/email addy and sitting back and waiting is not exactly pro-active, is it?
Which is where my theory of free will kicks in........
