In response to god's quip - all i can say mate is that at least i have managed to meet a number of very pleasant, attractive, and interesting girls through the subscription site, whereas on here there seems to be mostly a contingent of virtual prick-teasers

That's an interesting point, that maybe needs looking into. Although not sure I agree with it. The majority of women must want to meet a special friend surely ?.
As I said most of the sites I go on are mainly frequented by men, but maybe that's because I'm a man and use sites that men go on.
So the question remains, where do all these women go?? If they are on the net but not going on the sites I use, then where??

Maybe the ones who are paying are really, really desperate to meet someone. Thats the only reason i can see for paying for a dating site. If i had to pay for one i wouldn't bother, but then i am a Yorkshire lass
And everyone is entitled to change there minds. Maybe at the beginning they say they want to meet and then after a while chatting they think they don't actually want to anymore? Thats not a dig at you but it often happens. I believe its called a woman prerogative?

I have to agree with robthebear here.
Except for the 'desperate' bit.....
Saying that, a friend of mine is a member of a paying dating website and when I mentioned flirtbox being free, she'd never heard of it....so maybe its also to do with the fact that some people dont do their homework before tapping in the credit card number?

You're probably right, I've always said there's not enough dating going on here.
