09.08.2009, 03:31 quote
I'm wondering why people are always stating the obvious on here... for instance listing 'Liars' under 'Dislikes'... There are many things wrong with this;
1. EVERYONE LIES, for instance, if, upon seeing an old friend who has for instance gained a lot of weight, do you say, 'woah, you've got a lot bigger!' or do you say, 'hey, long time no see, looking good!'
2. NO ONE LIKES BEING LIED TO, often we can tell instantly when people are lying to us and i don't think i've met someone who relishes in being lied to.
3. IF the person reading your profile is a liar (which is everyone, see point number 1), do you think they were planning to say, 'I'm a liar', until your amazing revelation caused them to lie about being a liar.
4. SO MANY PEOPLE have 'liars' on their 'dislikes', be original.
5. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN... if i were to hazard a rogue guess, i would venture to suggest that people want someone who isn't going to cheat or mess them around, why not say, i don't like cheats?
Maybe its a pride thing... maybe people don't want everyone to know that they've been cheated on... well I have, a few times, and it's no big deal. If they still love you, stay with them, if not, end it, end of story... arrrrgggg, stupidity and ignorance rules this crappy country,

(BTW - which one is stupidity and which one ignorance?
(and you can't call GREAT Britain crappy!

Not everybody can be original though can they? If they all do not want somebody to cheat and lie to them about that slice of bacon which fell down the side of the cooker, then they should put that on their profile surely? The profile is to give an essence of who you are, so if they are not being original in your eyes then maybe that is a good indicator that they might not be for you?

foolishness! the royals don't rule or run this country, the civil service does. i can call whatever i want crappy, unless political correctness doesnt allow it, in which case... ill still say it.

Yeah I probably did miss that point, but perhaps they actually just mean they don't want people to tell them that they love them, when really, they don't. That kind of lying. It is natural not to want to be made a fool of.

Couldn't the same be said about most things that people dislike. I am sure that more than one person will dislike the same thing as I do. I love animals and I truly dislike people that are cruel to animals so that is what I have on mine. Unless you are mental I would guess that you would dislike that as well. Also I used to date a guy that could not tell the truth to save his life. I also dislike people that lie. To be fair I guess that you do have a point and I should put people that lie about everything. Thanks T

I guess, i was just ranting, i think my point is, don't be lazy when doing a profile, be specific! it's hard enough trying to relate to people over the net when there's loads of details for you to talk about, never mind when there's nothing or "i dislike 'something generic'." It doesn't help start a conversation.
People are truthful most of the time though, if not it would be so hard to keep track of the lies that you'd wear out your mind.
