Thanks for all your replies. To answer a few of the questions - going alone i was pretty nervous at first but got a beer at the bar and just started chatting to the guy next to me who was also on his own. Felt like a school disco at first with men grouped round the bar and girls sat down in the gorups they came in.

If your worried about getting no ticks and female from what i can gather the chances of this happening are very slim! Unless you are a complete fruit loop, one of the guys there will tick you. I think i ticked 6 or 7 girls when i did it and men always overestiamte the ticks they will get whilst women drastically underestimate.

Ticks or no ticks though i still really enjoyed the night out, and if anything comes from it its a bonus - thats the attitude to have i guess.

Just thought I'd bump this back to the top and see what people think of the whole speed dating thing.

HHmm have considered speed dating myself, I dunno, I always get the impression it's aimed at "executives" shoulder pads, pin stripes, laptop bags, that kinda thing.
