I think from the experience that I had with speed dating, both genders approach it with a very different attitude. The male friends that I have who have tried it tend to tick pretty much everyone in order to get as many replies as possible, but the females I know who have are a lot more selective about who they tick.

Its definitely something that I would do again, although there are no events anywhere near where I have moved recently (gloucester)

I do DIY speed dating when I am out and about if I spot a woman that I fancy then I try to talk to her for a while and then give her my email address or ask if I can see her again.

I think organised speed dating is a rip off. You have to pay about ten pounds to attend such an event and the chance of success is very low.

if you have a phone you could give her your number. tbh if you chat to a woman and offer her your email address she might think your a right web head and wonder why you havent given her your phone number.

Men are strange sometimes.... Confused

What all of us?
Im Not going to argue with the girls here, were not strange. Im right, your wrong. Ha Ha (I should post the picture from the simpsons here from the Ha Ha thread)

SC has a point that someone else is profiting and the chance of success might be low (lower than strangers on the internet I wonder?), but if they only cost £10 then for an evenings entertainment thats not bad, oh plus drinks I guess (you can have water, pretend to be on a health kick or something rather than tight), you might pay that to go to the cinema (ticket, icecream, drink, and popcorn)

Never been speed dating for the pure simple fear that i wouldnt find anyone to talk too.

I dont walk around in a hoodie and cap most of the time, im quite well spoken and before i moved back to lond had a decent job.

The guidlines for dating say thats one of the most important things.

These days ppl are so obsessed with the way you look, rather then the way you talk, treat others ect:

Its all down to pure carnal attraction mate.

Dont be disheartened keep your chin up and persivere!

but in speed dating you sit down with people and spend x amount of minutes finding out about someone then move straight onto the next person, so youd have plenty of people to talk to.

Back in 2001 I nearly got off with one woman I met in my local launderette but fucked up the next meet up arrangments. One problem I have found with my method is that almost all the women I meet are attached. I did though go to a free singles party in Chelsea last Saturday which was almost the same as speed dating as everyone chatted to each other but had no luck as I didn't meet any women who fancied me.
