I had a bit of a look to see if anyone else had posted in relation to this, but got bored after one page of threads so apologies if it's already out there.

Then I tried to post and it told me off because the topic title is out there - well now I've written the whole thing so I'm posting it anyway.

Have you tried Speed dating?

What was it like?

Was it successful? (you decide what 'success' would mean)

Would you recommend it?

Any funny stories?

Speed dating is a laugh, but that's about all I can say for it. Very unlikely you'll actually meet a partner through it. If you just view it as a fun evening out and a bit of a giggle, you won't be disappointed, but that's about as far as it goes.

Id love to try speed dating but i want to meet someone my own age (23) and my guess is it would be people in late 30s early 40s or older would frequent these things more, i dont know.

I am interested in Speed dating as a form of entertainment, but obviously also to improve my chances!

I thought a bit of research was in order as the majority of my friends are in relationships and it is likely to be a solo jaunt for me. Be prepared - as the scouts say.

Yeah I would probably give it a go but would prefer to go with someone. I was going to go with a mate of mine but he moved to Australia!

I went to one in Edinburgh last year with a female friend just so that we didnt feel too bad if we were not compatible with anyone. Most of the people there were 30+ which wasnt much help though but id maybe give it another try in the future.
