I've noticed that it is possible to see number of messages sent or received on anyone's profile... I don't know if i'm being petty, but i think this information must be kept private & confidential to the account holder! I think exposing such info. might just cause unnecessary prejudices about one's interactions. What do you guys think?

I agree entirely. Is there not an option to turn it off?

Indeed, the recieved shows the number of messages in my inbox rather than the total received. So I am guessing the sent shows the same.

I do like the number of times viewed though (if only for ego purposes)

oh yes i agree with you the "number of times viewed" is cool...Also another thing is that you cannot review your own "sent" messages or delete them as you do with those in your inbox.

I think this is a good thing. I don't send very many messages, so the ones I do send are important. Compare that to the males who fire off dozens of "fancy meeting for a shag?" or similar messages a day, without even reading the profiles of the recipients.

It's a very useful statistic, and it can tell you a lot about the person concerned. Honesty is everything, and if anyone doesn't like honesty they have no place here. The internet can be a very dodgy place, so the more details we have the better placed we are to make decisions about the person with whom we are communicating.

Assuming the sent messages is not just a count of messages sitting other peoples inboxes...

I've been a member a long time and 3 received messages vrs however many sent just looks sad.

Maybe it is a true reflection of me
