I am new to this site, and I am wondering how successful are people on this site at finding good friendships and loving relationships.

I am 43 years old and I would love to be a part of a meaningful partnership with someone who is equally interested in the same thing. Because of my work schedule I am unable to search online often. This is my first time going onto a website to find something meaningful with someone.

I am hoping that this site would prove to be helpful and not a waste of my time. Thanks for any feed back.

Personally, I've been on here three and a half years and I haven't really got anything out of the site at all.

Tried to make it work, chatted to people, make friends etc..but to no avail.

I personally think that when you see profile pics of cakes, Gadaffi, dogs etc! it puts you off a bit lol. The best two i've seen recently are photos of famous porn stars whose ages are maybe 10 years younger than the person!!

I may have given up on messaging but a look at the profiles doesn't hurt!

BTW Jegs perhaps we should take up Cage fighting? reckon that would work?

Joking aside. The only way I can make these sites work is to go out and meet people and show what a fantastic bloke I am , which probably defeats the object.

I think these sites have to start working, which probably means finding a better and more reliable way that people can promote themselves other then pics and profiles. Otherwise i can see the novelty wearing off. I can see real life making a comeback lol

It's been stated through the last few years that basing things on a forum format with an IM system not where we have to change sites, would probably work?

Forums probably has a higher success rate, and is probably a better tool then just profiles and picsB But the novelty tends to wain on forums. They only work if people post.

As I said, personally sites and forums do not work for me, and have to go to meets..which probably defeats the object for me.

Nothing like a joke lol!!But that aside nothing works unless you have the right medium! messaging is great when you are miles apart but first a rapport has to be built up! i personally feel that text style first messages are hard to build on! so hence banter on the forums an instant IM would make it easier!

I have never found love by knowingly looking for it, it has always been a matter of being in the right place at the right time, be it real life or on the net. For me, a dating site never worked, but a personal interest site has.
