i'm sorry, but its getting on my nerves so i need to have a rant here..
1) Not every women you send mail too, will reply..doesnt matter how much you moan about this, it wont change a thing..
2) not every woman will consider it bad manners to ignore your msg..this is sad but true..,
3) just having a profile up will not spur every women to msg you..no matter how much you want it too..
4) spamming them with msgs will not increase your chances..
5) not all women are like this...there are plenty of good mannered females out there, just because you might not think this...doesnt mean it isnt true..
6) to keep banging on about how frustrated/pee'd off you are/threating to leave etc etc..will do no soddin good and will not change a thing...
It just seems that everywhere i go on the forum, theres at least one man moaning about one of these things above....and its getting teadous to keep reading the same complaints over and over again..
rant over...

You're right mate. It IS annoying to see so many complaints and i am probably guilty of moaning too. Statistically, there is something like 15% to 20% women on here who are single and seeking a male. It may be LESS than that. Consider also, that a large % of those won't fancy you anyway. The odds of getting a reply are very low before you even write a profile, so if anyone is STILL moaning - THERE'S NO POINT - do some simple maths...

Remember patience is a virtue and as i have said before it is a big jungle out there and it takes time for thngs to get started. At least I reply to every single message whether it good or bad. If they dont have a pic i reply to that, if they are missing part of profile i say something about it and if they just say Hi, i tell them is that all you have to say boring. But I dont keep anyone just hanging

That's the difference between us "older" folk and the younger generations. I rarely ignore a mail (although i am guilty of doing so) but i must admit that if i send a message, i expect a response. I don't care if it says "sod off" or "hello gorgeous"...at least i know where i stand.
I accept that some people will ignore mails rather than start a conversation they don't want and i've done it myself although it IS a bit inconsiderate leaving someone hanging in suspense. I don't send many mails, it's not worth wasting my time.

I think to much time is wasted on waiting for messages to be replied to! Why can not everyone just sit back and relax and enjoy just browsing and having a natter? That way there are no expectations and a real bonus, to see a little post note by your inbox. I would love to have messages daily, but sadly i do not! And it really does not bother me as i have far more fun and enjoy the good company of the forums.

To be honest, if people expect a deep relationship to come from a dating site after a few emails theyre being hopelessley unrealistic.
Lets face it, if someone does expect such a thing then the internet is probably a last resort for them, so what makes them think that being represented by a profile and a picture on a dating site will make them more attractive to the opposite love. Especially if they have failed in real life.
The reason these sites are excellent in my opinion is just the fact that you get the opportunity to contact people you'd never of met otherwise, who cares if half of them dont message back? Its common sense that people may not check their mails or more importantly and commonly wont be interested in you.
I think thats the most important thing to get around for these people, that most other people aren't interested in you, its a fact of life. Only a select few are, and the likilihood of connecting with those people is low on an internet dating site.
Moral of the overly lengthed rant about people ranting: Expect nothing from this site and in the off chance that you do get something, it will be all the more pleasing.
15.08.2006, 08:58 quote
that's not true. some people do find deep, meaningful relationships on the net. i know a couple who met on the net and are now married with a lovely baby boy.
keep the faith ppl... what's for you won't go by you.
15.08.2006, 10:19 quote
i dont expect replies but do try to reply to mails i get even just to say hello. Only thing i'm guilty of is that if i am asked to chat on msn i have a bad habit of cutting ppl off by accident for some reason. Iam pc illiterate and still finding my way round the damned electronic monster!!! So if anybody who reads this is cursing me for this <I AM SORRY....NOT MY FAULT!>

Have to agree with Tracey. You can actually have a conversation here. It is a sad fact that there are a lot of ignorant people around but they won't change and neither will we so it's best not to get too stressed up about it - it's their loss.
15.08.2006, 19:26 quote
I agree its nice being able to chat with the other love, without having to yell over the noise in a nightclub. I think people's hopes get to high. It is great to receive a message. But its also pretty good to be able to make contact with people through the forums.

Love the tiger Travellerray, don't know if I would have the courage to get that close though
15.08.2006, 20:12 quote
Hi Vivizara, it was okay the tiger had lunch first. I also had a good lunch just in case. My only disappointment was that I could not spend more time with them. They are beautiful and fascinating, and big.
15.08.2006, 20:31 quote
i'm a fairly new user to the site and started using it for the same reasons i suppose everybody else did (a bit bored and open to the idea of meeting/chatting to people), but lately i have found myself not bothering with the main site so much and having a look at the forums moreso, now i don't post too much, but enjoy reading what people have to say.
just my little bit
