I think as well as all the comments I made above, I’d also say that as well as travelling a few hours on the train, I’m inclined to do things spontaneously too (finances depending at the time), 1 - 2 days notice is sort my personal guideline for ‘spontaneous’ due to workload. I suppose how far one is prepared to travel might also depend on what one’s expectations are, and what they get out of the meeting emotionally and/or experience. I guess if I return from a long distance date feeling personally enriched, then it was worth the effort, regardless of how far it was, or how much trouble it was to get there and back (ooer, I am being serious today )
