The guys user name has not been mentioned so he cannot be identified (I presume you are talking about Nixys post). If someone found it offensive then thats their perogative and opinion. It all boils down to each individuals persective on what abuse is and how they distinguish it.

However I do suggest if you have an issue with this that you pm Toby/God as he is the one that suggested it

I think I will. It is worrying that anyone can come to this thread and post anything that they have received in a private message (emphasis on private) because they think it is abusive (even if it isn’t abusive). I agree that obvious abuse (obvious by *any* moral standards) is unacceptable and should be dealt with accordingly. I think there should be clear guidelines at the top of this thread as to what constitutes 'abusive' behaviour, which I shall mention to Toby as well.

Whereas I would be happy to share snippets of 'dodgey' messaging, I certainly wouldn't feel happy to name anyone via this forum.

I don't see the point of this "name and shame" lark.

1. I don't imagine the people being "shamed" are going to read this thread or care.

2. I don't imagine anyone is going to look at this thread before talking to someone. In fact I'd hazard a guess that the people will make their "nasty" nature known up front in their 1st few messages.

So umm ... besides bitching & laughing at a few random people with profiles on here ... what is the actual use of this thread ?

I agree, at the end of the day i was just putting my opinion in which i have been totally slated for by almost everyone, so please lock this thread or start it over again so my posts aren't included. And i think its totally wrong of darkhorse to act like he can make up the rules on what everyone will and wont find abusive.

Nixy I have deleted your original post and edited any posts quoting it thereafter.

I have made a suggestion to pm Toby about this thread as I think this decision is down to him on this one.

Just for info my personal stand point on it is the same as some of the others. If someone is personally abuse to me then yeah I could see me naming and shaming them but other than that I dont think I would. As Myriad puts it, I may share some of my dodgy messages sometimes as a clue as to what NOT to write in messages because the majority of women wont respond to them in any postive way. I will not name people unless there is a damn good reason for it in my mind.

There are guidelines at the top of the forum with a suggestion that you pm one of the active moderators or Toby if you have any concerns rather than posting them on the open forum too Darkhorse.

As i said before its down to the individuals perspective what they class as "abuse" just as it is in real life. For instance saying "fancy a shag" might be abuse to some people but I find it a giggle and normally go back at them with something. Not everyone thinks the same and thats what makes us individual and life be interesting
