01.06.2006, 20:30 quote
Hi,
I've registered on the Canadian site, hoping to find someone local. It's hard to be 40 and single, well rooted in acommunity with job and family, when out in the internet dating world. I mean, sure, it's nice to communicate with someone from another country, but when you truly want to find that special person to share your life, or even just to go on dates, travelling for even an hour or 2 seems unrealistic at this point--because I'd expect that guy to also be rooted in his own community, as far as job and home.
What have others found? Are you happy emailing, IM, texting and calling to get to know another, and then drive for a while to meet that "special person"? What about when it has the potential to become more serious? Do you pack in your job/arrange a transfer? Uproot your children/move away from family and friends? All to be with that new love????
As I say, new to internet dating and am wondering if the world is too big for me at the moment?

Well I did. From Northern Ontario to New Brunswick, I lived and loved with the one I met for 5 years. Its hard to find that special one to live with for the rest of your life. That why you see alot of people looking. You have to do what the heart tells you to do in order try and be happy. I split with the one for 5 years because she wasn't what she really said she was, and found her not as active or maybe she wasn't happy?? You move on as I did, found an American here for a couple years. We go to church, walks and travel together and soon she is moving back to the US and we are much in love. Right now she wants to go back alone but wants to fly me down to visit. Maybe in time when we realize we were meant to be....we will be and if not, My heart will break and we move on. The man upstairs will show you the right person, you will feel it in your soul and then you will be happy. For how long is up to the two of you. Good luck everyone!

Wow, I just signed your guestbook - wish I'd read this first!
So, you're very much in love with a lady, who hasn't left you yet and will probably want you to visit when she does move away, AND you're now looking for another woman, even before she has left (and even though you say you're in love with her)...wow, I guess the message where I put that your face and eyes looked nice was a bit premature...not nice - not nice.
