Oh dear, but the question in my head is do you really want him back or just someone to call your boyfriend? you said you wouldnt be bothered about him if you find someone else! doesnt sound like you really cared for him much, when i split from my last partner i was devistated and not at all interested in replacing him or trying to work out, how to get him back and or manipulate him.

If he has choosen to move on in life its his choice, and whilst he should have told you why, you need to respect that and focus on yourself and what you want from life.
