What is the difference between good looking and interesting ?

Plenty Dave Very Happy Don't think I've ever gone out with anyone who was overly good looking. They may have turned heads occasionally, but it sure wasn't 'cos they had the looks of a male model Laughing Wink

You talk as if there is one idea of "good looking" which everyone agrees upon. Do you really think that this is the case ?

when i say this dave i am refering to things that the media throw at us all the time, ie models, hollywood looks etc, like it or not a large proportion of people out there are trying to live up to this ideal, i am just saying that i find that ideal a bit boring and i find beauty where perhaps those people might not. my idea of beautiful is probably different to yours, neither one is right or wrong or better or worse

Not at all! Which is why some could be classed as 'interesting' and others not. I agree with Scottie in that there are certain features that can be picked out that bring a face to life and make it more interesting to one person than another.

I think it also depends on what you find an attractive feature; for example, one of the first things I look at are a mans hands of all things, another person will look at the eyes/lips/nose etc first and if their favoured feature passes their own idea of what is attractive then it often follows that other, less important features seem more pleasing.

OK, time to arrive at my destination. I don't understand why people (not just you) use someone elses idea of good looking to define their own understanding of the word, and then find another word to use to describe what good looking is to them.

It's just not something people do if you were talking about a good film, a good book or a good anything else. So why do it when it comes to good looking ?

When I think of good looking, I'm only thinking of what it means to me.
