I've had plenty of long distance relationships and i have to say most of them proved fruitless.
Im in agreement with the topic starter here in that you get used to limited exposure with a partner and cope accordingly, but when its moved to a constant status of contanct with each other problems arise because people become used to their solidarity, and can't cope accoridingly.
There are so many incredible and gorgeous english women on this site ( Red foremost amongst them ) that i would like to contact and try something with, but the distance in the relationship just kills the idea dead for me these days. I can't have a sanitised weekend, routine relationship anymore. i need a partner, not a schedule, and that limits my choices for people in a big way

If only it were that simple! And thanks Chiefy
Acting is not the most stable of careers at best of times, unless you're at the top of the league, so moving away from an area where your name is becoming known could be disasterous for someone like Sean.

been there done that and worn out the t shirt!
And I agree with Sean on this one - I want a relationship these days not a schedule!
That saying tho - it does work for some people and did work for me, one for 18 months and one for 2 years in the past ...... and both of those broke up for reasons other than the distance!

I think that long distance is fine as long as both make an effort to keep the love alive, a once a week phone call is not enough in my opinion.
In the end though, someone has got to make a sacrfice and move, you cant stay in a long distance relationship forever.

they do work as long as your trust the other person, and as you see less of each other the time you do get to spend with eachother is more special.
as said before though someone has to relocate.
