Probably a topic that's been covered here before, but I did a quick search and can't find it.

So anyway: Ladies, I'm yer A-typical nice guy, I'm polite, courteous, honest, and kind (enough of that). But for some reason, I end up getting dumped, or dumped on, and seem to end up just listening to peoples problems.

Of course one of the most common problem I hear, is about how these girls fellas are complete barstuds. But for some reason, the girls seems to gravitate towards these guys, infact a girl who was on the verge of splitting with one, is now having his kid and maintains "He's gonna become a different person"

My point is. Do ladies prefer the nice guys and it's only my group of friends that don't, or do ladies secretly like a nasty piece of work? If so, why??

since no-one else seems to have replied to this message, I think I will offer an opinion.

Statistics show that girls eventually settle for someone who reminds them of their dad (kind loving and protective) but what girl actually wants to date someone like their dad? In some cases, the "bad boy syndrome" is a rebellion. Someone that is so far removed from their dad that no-one can make a connection.

In other cases (like my own in the past) girls gravitate towards guys who have the appearance of a bad boy (my ex - over 6 feet tall, long hair, beard, leather jacket, built like a tank, listens to aggressive music, etc etc - but has a soft heart, and is scared of spiders) as guys like this who give of the vibes of "no messing with me!" make a girl feel safe, but underneath, they're actually softer than the girls! That kind of guy is often overlooked as due to the appearance, they become unapproachable.

Open, honest and reliable men dont come around very often. Mostly, I've met idiots, mama's boys (just a little bit too clingy to their parents ie mother calls, he goes running to change a lightbulb immediately) and guys who think its funny to get really drunk and see how many people they can annoy.

The bottom line is, just be yourself. Theres someone out there who will like that and will like you just the way you are. Be true to yourself and the rest will follow. x

Smile Thanks for that.

Would be so much easier if we had barcodes with all this stuff on it. Just scan the other persons barcode to see if they're looking for you. If not, then move on. lol

Some types of women want a challenge and like in the example you mention, she thinks she can change him, thats part of the challenge although those kind of relationships tend not to end well. The question to be asked is how is he behaving to get the girl to submit herseelf.

You can find this stuff out on the net because nice guy bad guy is psychology. The traits of a nice guy typically means subservient. ie we do stuff to try and please a girl, agreeing with her, listening to all her crap, That kind of behavior puts them in a dominant position. Where as the bad guy maintains independence, doesnt try to please them, is almost indifferent at times. That puts him in the dominant position and the girl then has to rush round trying to please him. see the challenge there. Its also why i think attractive girls (the sort that know it) end up with less attractive blokes.

Im not saying we should all become complete bast***s but there's certainly a middle ground to be had. Be nice but maintain independence.

i dont go for a bad guy or nice guy, i prefer someone who is independant and can take care of themselves, in a sense that they can cook and use a washing machine... basicly a guy thats house trained.
but i want to feel safe with the guy, say if we are out and some twat starts giving me shite i want to know that my guy would stick up for me, i dont mean fight, but the have brains to disolve the situation.
