Well, i'm going to assume that you read peoples profiles, so i'd say..pick something that you may have in common with them, like a band or something, and try to talk about that.

Are you mailing ppl in the UK ? I dont reply to ppl who are not in this country as I dont see the point (too far away for meeting) so could that be it?
