I tend not to get involved with younger guys who are too young as i think that i would want to mother them. Having said that i guess if i found the right guy then age wouldn't matter.

Quotes from me to my *older* men:

1. Eat up yer veggies or you won't get any pudding
2. If you can't be nice, go to bed!
3. Did you wash your hands?
5. And don't forget behind your ears.....

Seriously now, I just looked - the original post on this thread was a lad who was 19 wanting to know if girls 20-25 thought he was too young!!!
I am gobsmacked yet again cuz I would have honestly put them in the same age bracket - but then I was with a much older man at that age, so what would I know?
I'm talking from a nearly-42 yrs old woman's point of view - maybe when I was 25 I might have thought a lad of 19 was too young? I don't recall ever thinking such thing though, it just simply didnt happen. (Except when I was 15 I was sweet on a boy of 17, but that was all really).

I think littlevixen your story says no things have not changed - my aunt is 68 and uncle 90 - they've been together since she was 18. There was never any disapproval from either family at the time, from what I've gleaned.
And currently my eldest lad who is 19 - he has a 19 yrs old girlfriend but admitted to me the other day that he's got the hots for a lady he knows, and she's 41 - my age!! (said older lady isn't really aware he exists, bless him).
So no, I dont things have changed with time, nor I suppose have attitudes much.

Well blimey why shouldn't samenoname re-start an old thread?
He's new here, if an old thread (which is new to samenoname) is interesting to him, why not post on it?
These forums aren't just here for The Regulars - they are for everybody.
When I get bored of current topics, I peruse the old ones and if I find one that interests me I post on it.
That's what they are here for.

Age is just a number. As long as both people want the same thing, it doesn't matter.

Ok, so I've been talking to somebody about this, and they are pretty adamant that age does matter. And they nearly convinced me. But I'm sorry, it doesn't.

All that matters is that two people love or like each other, and that they can talk to one another. As long as nobody is getting hurt, it should not be an issue. John Lennon was not talking out his ass when he said 'Love is all you need'.

I think the younger girls who go for older men do so for a variety of reasons, older men tend to have (usually) more money, are more settled, more mature in their attitudes to relationships, more experienced between the sheets, and so on. As I mentioned in another thread I tend to date younger women myself, it's not something that I specifically look for I just tend to get on with them better. My last GF was 24 (I'm 38.)

Yeah, he was. Love matters a lot but there's more to it all. John Lennon was ok until he met Yoko and became a stinking communist hippy.

Women under 25 tend to be more mature then the men at the same age, of course not always. They are probably attracted to the maturity of older men.

I used to think that i would never date a guy younger than me, i was always attracted to the older ones. However, i am becoming more drawn to the younger men these days, I'm not saying 10 or 15 yrs younger than me, maybe 8yrs as a maximum

If they were any younger i would be worried about being traded in for a younger model! Confused

As I've said on here before, most men my age would like to to have an affair with a women in her 20's, but it will be a bit of fun and nothing more.

Personally I think 10'ish years younger is the max I'd go for long term.

From what I can see, the most unhappy women I see on these type sites are women that are looking for much younger men. Most are looking for something that isn't there.

I wonder if that has become part of popular culture now, its the story of films, books and tv shows, look at love in the city, one character is practically obsessive about toy boys. But same goes for men, but what do women actually want from younger men that an older man doesnt have? Is it energy? is it enthusiasm? is it the spontaneity? or is it the trophy boyfriend to show off to the world? of course all these questions apply to men seeking younger women too.

What do women want a younger man for? eh ladies?
